Scheduled rolling backfill for destination tasks#2024

P

Problem
Conversions that arrive late — offline/CRM uploads (e.g. HubSpot, booking systems) and Google Ads / Meta attribution updates — are credited back to the original click date, often days or weeks later. Destination tasks only re-sync a short recent window, so the warehouse keeps the earlier, incomplete numbers for past months, while the ad platform UI and Looker Studio show the updated totals. Today the only fix is remembering to run a manual backfill before each reporting cycle.

Request
An option on each destination task to run an automatic rolling backfill on a schedule:

  • Lookback window: configurable (e.g. last 30 / 60 / 90 days)
  • Frequency: e.g. daily, weekly, or monthly on a chosen day (for example the 3rd of each month, before monthly reporting)
  • Replace-by-date writes (delete-then-insert or merge per date), so re-syncing never creates duplicate rows
  • Option to limit it to selected connectors/tasks (e.g. only the Google Ads conversion-action task)
  • Email or in-app notification when the scheduled backfill finishes or fails, with the date range covered

Why it matters
Monthly client reports are built from the warehouse. Without a scheduled rolling backfill, last month’s conversions and revenue are understated until someone notices and backfills by hand. This would keep historical data in sync with the ad platforms automatically.
